I love this painting because:
It tells of an epic journey undertaken by a man (and his crew of men) and the potential dangers that can befall them on that journey at the hands of women...a metaphor for life, maybe?!
I would like to hang it:
At the entrance of the Hull fish docks (that were at least) as a reminder of the perils faced by all sailors at sea.
